Moderators

This Blog is facilitated and monitored by several members of the Shoulder to Shoulder Advisory Group and Minnesota Institute of Public Health staff. They include:

  • Rose Allen, M.Ed.—Regional Extension Educator, Family Relations, University of Minnesota Extension Service
    She is a member of the Shoulder to Shoulder Advisory Committee and helped author many of the Shoulder to Shoulder materials. Her areas of expertise are parenting, adolescent development, divorce and family change. She and her husband live in St. Paul and are the parents of two teens - who teach her more that she ever wanted to know about adolescence.
  • Patricia Galligher, M.P.H., R.D., L.N.—Senior Community Health Specialist, Washington County Department of Public Health and Environment
    Patricia is a member of the Shoulder to Shoulder Advisory Committee and has worked in Public Health with all ages for over twenty years. Her areas of expertise include nutrition, and tobacco and injury prevention for adolescents. She is the parent of one young adult and one teen.
  • Jennifer O'Brien, M.P.H. to be completed in 2007, B.A., Adolescent Health Coordinator, Minnesota Department of Health
    Jen is a member of the Shoulder to Shoulder Advisory Committee and has worked with youth both internationally as well as in California and Minnesota on healthy youth development and teen pregnancy/ sexually transmitted infection prevention for over ten years. Her areas of expertise are adolescent health, healthy youth development and sexuality education. She lives with her partner in Northeast Minneapolis.
  • Becky Sechrist, M.Ed.—Public Health Program Specialist, Minnesota Institute of Public Health
    Becky is the Project Director for Shoulder to Shoulder and has worked in public health for over ten years. Her areas of expertise include family and parent education and program evaluation. She is the parent of one young son.
